Episcopal Relief & Development
This international agency partners with the worldwide Anglican Church and local organizations to save lives, and transforms communities around the world. Their mission is to rebuild after disasters and to empower people by offering lasting solutions that fight poverty, hunger and disease. In 2009, Episcopal Relief & Development reached more than 3 million people in over 40 countries around the world.
In Haiti, this agency has a longstanding partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti which started prior the 2010 earthquake. One of the key components of this partnership was the creation of the Haiti Development Initiative to assist the local communities in implementing small development projects and coordinating disaster response efforts while working closely with the diocesan development office.
